Hiking, Chuseok, Family and Friends

Hello :D

I am doing good here :) Just to say this right away ^^

Last sunday I was hiking with my family. Since I am used to way higher mountains I was not expecting it to be exhausting ^^ i was wrong. It was hot and the route we took was not the easy one. I had to climb up rocks and use ropes, a ladder and my hostfathers help to reach the top. It was fun. And the first real exercise I did since I have been here. I will go with them again. Maybe next weekend. I really like to get out into the nature and see the city from afar. I kind of think that it is prettier that way. When I first came here, everything was too big and I had no idea how to come back home, or to a place where I have been before. But now that I've been here for over a month I can find my way easily. It's still big, but the places I normally visit start to become small. I can't wait to visit Seoul :))
But Now Hiking pictures ^^

Then I had two days of school. On Monday I also had language course. But after Tuesday midday I was free. Holidays! Korean Holidays ^^
Chuseok is a korean form of Thanksgiving. What you do is you cook a lot, prepare it all for your ancestors, the male members of the family bow and pour alcohol for them. Afterwards everyone eats and talks. Later they seperate and visit other parts of the family. And kids recieve money (I did not but some other exchange students did ^^) If you want to know more about Chuseok, then I can write more about it in another blogpost, just let me know or google it ^^
The day before actual chuseok I helped with cooking. I just fried a few things like pumpkin leaves and potato ^^
My family :) And yes it was just me and Jennifer who wore their Hanboks. Jennifer is 'related' to me. Her hostfather is my hostfather's older brother. This is how we got to spend this holiday together. ^^
They made our cusins wear old Hanboks ^^ Jennifer's host sister was trying to refuse but you can't win over a korean mom, especially not when she is supported by a korean grandmother. ^^ So this is almost all, no not really xD My father has 4 brothers (their families were here, some are not on the picture though.) and two sisters, but they spend chuseok with their husbands families.
This is what I did after eating. I did my uncle's nails ^^
This is the youngest generation of my family. Two Oppas (older brothers) and 1 unnie (older sister) is missing

During the holidays I 'played' a lot. I went to Seomyeon, Nampo and Gyeongseongde a lot ^^ (I think I was at every place at least twice in this week ^^) I met Conner and his school friends, I celebrated Pia's and Naeun's (Jennifer's host sister) birthday and went eyeshopping a lot ^^ I was told that I look like Kirstin Dunst, that my dimples are pretty and even people 3 years younger than me think that I am cute ^^

You wanna see how I would look if I was a doll? I know you do ^^ Pia did my make-up and Jennifer did the editing ^^ But don't worry, I like my smiling face better than this dead look ^^

Bye and all the best ^^
keep smiling <3
